Ms. Donna Landriscina Johnson graduated from the VCU, Department of Nurse Anesthesia
in August of 1989. After working several years for a private practice anesthesia group, Ms. Johnson joined the faculty
in 1990 with a desire and commitment to educate future generations of nurse anesthetists. Since that time, Ms. Johnson
has served on faculty in a didactic and clinical teaching role. Ms. Johnson is the Assistant Director of Education in
the Department of Nurse Anesthesia and a Staff Nurse Anesthetist for the VCU Health Systems.
Ms. Johnson received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1984 from Kent State
University, Kent Ohio, and shortly thereafter, a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Virginia Commonwealth
University’s School of Allied Health Professions.
Specialty areas of focus as a clinical nurse anesthetist include Pediatrics,
Obstetrics, Regional Anesthesia, and Trauma. Also, having been associated with the VCU nurse anesthesia program for
nearly two decades, she has particularly enjoyed networking with our Alumni and developing our annual newsletter!
Research areas of interest include patient safety, regional anesthesia, malignant hyperthermia, and pediatrics.
Included in Ms. Johnson’s’ outside interests are traveling, crafts, photography,
horses, and water sports. She is a Girl Scout Troop leader with 18 troop members, 8 years of age, and also volunteers
