| The VCU O.T. Department welcomed 40 new students on June 2, 2008. The class
attended two days of orientation before starting the Nature of OT course. Students started the Human Anatomy
class on June 11, 2008. Of the 40, 32 are from Virginia and 9 are previous VCU students. Thirty-eight are
entering with previous degrees. There are 35 women and 5 males, the most in any recent class. The mean age is
25. Most of the new students have had the opportunity to visit the department and meet the faculty, clinical
faculty, staff, and students during an Open House for Accepted Applicants. They all seem very excited to begin
their career in Occupational Therapy and we are happy that they are here. |
