Patient Counseling Programs
The Intern Certificate Program is designed to meet
the outcomes of Level I Clinical Pastoral Education (formerly Introductory Clinical Pastoral Education). Programs are
offered in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Applications are received on a rolling admissions basis for this
certificate program
The Graduate Certificate Program requires
completion of 27 hours of study according to one of the established curricula.
The Master of Science in Patient Counseling requires
completion of 44 hours of study according to one of the established curricula.

VCU Health System provides the clinical setting for coursework requirements in the
following programs. Clinical placement sites also exist at Mary Washington Hospital
in Fredericksburg, VA and Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA.
