Chairman's Welcome
The Department of Radiation Sciences welcomes you! We offer B.S. in Clinical Radiation Sciences in Nuclear Medicine
Technology, Radiation Therapy and Radiography. As Virginia’s only B.S. program with content specific to Radiography
and Radiation Therapy and the only Nuclear Medicine program in central Virginia, you have the opportunity to prepare
for the technical and professional demands of the 21st century.
Curricula for each program include both theoretical and
practical course work and substantial clinical experience in a variety of high quality health care settings. Our programs
are fully accredited and meet high national standards. Graduates
from our programs are eligible for national certification exams in their discipline.
Our facility provides multimedia classrooms, a fully energized
radiographic and fluoroscopic lab, a radiation therapy treatment planning system, Kermath radiation therapy
simulator, dual head nuclear medicine gamma cameraFuji computed radiography (digital) imaging equipment, and a
dedicated student computer lab. Equally impressive are the department faculty who
have expertise and experience in a wide range of specialties within the radiation sciences.
If you are committed to helping people in a health care setting along with an interest in
technologically advanced equipment, the radiation sciences may be the career for you.
Discover why VCU has the advantage in the Radiation Sciences.
| Sincerely, |
| Jeff Legg |
